Hitchin Lavender Fields

Got to enjoy an amazing day with a couple friends out at the Hitchin Lavender Fields.  For a little over 4 pounds, you can pick a bag full of fresh lavender.  There's a cute gift shop and little cafe where we ate lunch. I got bunches of lavender to dry then figure out what to do with.  And although the fields weren't quite in full bloom yet, it was still beautiful out there.  I hope to go back and get more picks!

Market Bag

Just finished my recent project.  It's a Market Bag by Garn Studio.  You can find the free pattern HERE.  I pretty much followed the pattern exactly.  I used Drops Paris yarn, however, I did change the color scheme.  I also added a single crocheted tab closure with button.  The yarn estimates were pretty good.  I tend to crochet a little loose so I did run out of the light blue.  There are only 3 strands in each braided handle instead of 6.  It came very close!  The pattern was fun and easy to follow.

Materials:
DROPS PARIS from Wool Warehouse

200 g color no 30, grey blue
150 g color no 20, light pink
100 g color no 33, medium pink
100 g color no 29, light ice blue
100 g color no 17, off white
50 g color no 35, vanilla

King's College, Cambridge

The University of Cambridge is comprised of many smaller colleges, King's College being one of the most well-known is an emblem of Cambridge.  The college was founded in 1441 by King Henry VI.  It took about 100 years to complete the building of the chapel, one of the most famous in the world.

The campus is majestic and one of my favorites to walk through.  It sits along the River Cam and has beautiful views up and down the river.
