Heidelberg Castle
Heidelberg Castle overlooks Heidelberg, Germany and was built in 1214. It is now a ruin but remains an important Renaissance structure. Parts were damaged by lightening twice and by war and fire before being rebuilt. One of the Christmas Markets is located on the grounds outside the castle.
We walked up the 280 feet on the first trip up, then later took the tram up. Their Christmas Market was one of John's favorites. We were so glad to get a chance to catch up with Lisa as well.
