Koblenz, Germany

We live a 38 minute train ride from Koblenz.  I didn't know much about it and we went on a Sunday so most everything was closed.  We took a cable car ride up to the fort which was worth the overviews of the city.  We walked around the old city and ate at a traditional German pub. And I got some nice photos of the city.

The Black Forest, Germany

The Black Forest, the place you think of in fairy tales.  Well, we got to go see it for ourselves and, yes, it's beautiful and magical.  We took a train to Titisee Lake where we walked around the lake and then had an early dinner that included the area's famous Black Forest cake.

     

We also took the car and drove up the mountains a bit.  One of our stops was the cable car that took you up for spectacular views of the valley.  And you can't be in the Black Forest without a stop at the famous Cuckoo clocks...amazing works of art and craftsmanship.   

 

 

 

     

 And, finally, a little hike through the Magic Forest that ended with a apfelkuchen and beer.
