Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap!

It's a well heard phrase in England especially in the London underground.  The train stops, the doors open and overhead you hear the announcer say..."Mind the Gap."  The gap is the space between the train and the platform and it can be quite wide at times.  You have to be watchful of it as you don't want to stumble and fall through or trip over it on your way out.  You don't want to miss it!

On Sunday the sermon was about having faith-gaps...times when our faith is tested as we cannot see or do not know what is in store.  We basically have to trust that God will get us through the unknown.  We need to be willing to take the step.  I'm not sure what my faith-gap is at the moment, but I know coming to live in England was definitely one of them.  I had to trust that everything would be okay.  And since coming last summer, my life has been truly blessed with awesome friends from around the world and wonderful vacations seeing things I never dreamed of seeing.  We found a great home that fit us perfectly and despite the separation from family, I've not really felt homesick.  I'm adapting to this new lifestyle well.

We need faith-gaps to keep us from getting complacent, too comfortable in our faith walk.  Watch for your gap, it's an open invitation from your creator to build your faith and to be blessed beyond measure.

When we trust the announcer of the gap, we won't miss it and He will see us through it every time!
