East Shore and Luau

On our third day we took a morning drive around the East Shore of the island...gorgeous scenery.  Here the waves are stronger on some of the beaches especially Sandy Beach, though not as strong as in the winter months when the big surfers come out.

 Sandy Beach
Beki and John both got a little intimidated by the waves as while we were there, they kept getting bigger and bigger.  One knocked them both over throwing John on top of Beki....scared her a little!

 Hale Koa's Luau
The luau was a lot of fun.  We were greeted with shell leis and cocktails.  During the preshow, they made palm crowns and performed some of the native activities like tree climbing.  Dinner was good...got to try lots of Hawaiian food.  We went to the after-luau party and got to talk to some of the performers and Beki joined in on some of the dancing.

 Dinner!!
