Metro Lofts

This is our corporate aparment down in the Central West End district.  The other night we stepped out onto the street heading to dinner and there was an incredible sunset.  I ran all the way up three flights of steps to get the camera because, of course, I didn't bring it with me this time...lesson learned!  Anyways, in the couple of minutes that I was gone, I missed the peak of the sunset, but here is what was left of it when I got there.

We are making progress towards closing!  All inspections are cleared and loan commitment is done.  We close on September 24th and move in on the 27th!!  WooHoo!  I am ready to get in and set up, start decorating.  It's been fun living the urban life, but I'm ready to settle in again.  Fall is coming and it's my favorite time of year.

Crepes, Etc.

There are so many little places to explore down here in the West End.  One of our favorites is this French crepes restaurant.  The first time we visited,  we were with friends.  We went back this past weekend and shared a breakfast.  It was great weather for hanging out on the patio.  The crepes are to die for...perfect every time!

The Cup

Ahhh....we finally made it to The Cup, where we indulged ourselves in wonderful cupcakes. We tried the Peanut Butter Cup, Smore, and Peach Cobbler.  The Peach wins so far with a cream cheese frosting!  This is the original location here in the Central West End, St. Louis. They aren't jumbo cupcakes, but they are bigger than what you make at home. They also made me a darn good Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Abandoned Churches

How did it come to this...these beautiful old churches wasting away, no people to bring life to them, empty shells no longer filled with worship.  It is really sad to see, with time they will crumble, become walls of graffiti.  These particular churches are located down in the Central West End.  I hope someone comes in and brings life back to their old sanctuaries.

An Urban Weekend Part 2

....went to a new pizza joint, "PI" Pizza, and tried their deep dish pizza.  It was very good!  We walked through a really fun antique store, took pictures at sunset of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, and had dessert at the Majestic Restaurant.

Catheral Basilica

The Basilica is a beautiful piece of architecture in the Old Central West End of St. Louis.  We spent an evening at sunset photographing the outside.  Soon, we will make a trip over to see the inside which I hear is incredible.

Cherry Blossoms in Bonn

When I read about the cherry blossoms in Bonn, I knew we had to get there before they disappeared. And I was not disappointed.  Two streets...
