Infinity Scarf Pattern

I loved this stitch when I saw it and wanted to make an easy pattern that incorporated it. Once you get going, you don't have to think about it.  And you can make it as wide or thin as desired.  Have fun!

Crochet Winter Infinity Scarf and Ear Warmer Set
(Looks like knit crochet camel stitch)

CH – Chain
HDC – Half Double Crochet

Bulky yarn (I used Women's Institute Soft and Chunky made for Hobbycraft (UK)
3 decorative buttons (optional)
Size K crochet hook

Note: this pattern will be worked in the round.

Row 1:  CH 190. Join to first chain with a slip stitch making sure not to twist the chain.
Row 2:  HDC in each CH stitch around.  Do not turn, continue in the round.
Row 3 – 16:  HDC in the extra hidden loop found behind each HDC top loops of row 2.  This pushes the 2 top loops forward creating a ridge that looks like knit called the camel stitch.  Continue to work in the round until you reach the end of row 16.  Tie off and weave in ends.
Sew on buttons.

Ear Warmer

Row 1:  CH 50.  Join to first chain with a slip stitch making sure not to twist the chain.
Row 2:  HDC in each CH stitch around.  Do not turn, continue in the round.
Row 3 – 9:  HDC in the hidden loop behind the HDC top loops of row 2, continue to work in the round until you reach the end of row 9. Keep going if you'd like your warmer to be wider.
Row 10:  Slip stitch in back of each HDC around.  Tie off and weave in ends.
Sew on buttons.
